Here at LJM when we say custom packaging, we mean it. Every product is unique and requires different packaging to get it delivered safely. There could be several factors such as weight, materials used, fragility, etc. to be taken into account when being designed. LJM will take your product and engineer the package to your product. If you wish the product can be sampled for your review. Also if you need your product to be ISTA certified we can have it sent out to be tested.

Corrugated fiberboard is a paper-based material consisting of a fluted corrugated sheet and one or two flat linerboards. It is widely used in the manufacture of corrugated boxes and shipping containers. Corrugated fiberboard can be specified by the construction (single face, single-wall, double-wall, triple-wall), flute size, burst strength, edge crush strength, flat crush, basis weights of components, surface treatments and coatings, etc.
Corrugated Plastic is made up of a wide range of extruded twinwall plastic sheet products produced from high impact polypropylene resin with a similar make up to corrugated fiberbaord. It is a light weight tough material which can easily be cut with a craft knife. It is offered in a wide variety of colors and thicknesses.
Honeycomb is similar to the properties of corrugated, but with honeycomb panels you can take advantage of the lightweight but superior strength found when using hexagonal cells to create pallets, cushions, or other packaging materials
Corrugated is the most common and usually the most economical way to deliver your product. There are hundreds of variations of boxes and other corrugated packaging. Let LJM steer you toward your packaging solution. LJM's corrugated products and services include...
Standard sizes/custom sizes
HSC (half-slotted container)
RSC (regular-slotted container)
OPF (one piece folder)
FTC (full telescope carton)
FPF (Five panel folder)
CST (creased slotted tray)
FOL (full overlapped carton)
taped joints/glued joints/stitched joints
Other corrugated packaging
Other types of corrugated
Singlewall - all flute sizes, strengths, and tests are available.
Doublewall - all flute sizes, strengths, and tests are available.
Triplewall - all flute sizes, strengths, and tests are available.
Combine corrugated with foam and or wood to greater ensure that your product is protected
We can accommodate any size order whether it be one or two pieces to hundreds.
LJM can also ship your corrugated set up or they can be knocked down flat to also be cost effective and to save space.

Plywood - is used in many applications that need high-quality, high-strength sheet material. Quality in this context means resistance to cracking, breaking, shrinkage, twisting and warping.Exterior glued plywood is suitable for outdoor use, but because moisture affects on the strength of wood, optimal performance is achieved in end uses where woods moisture content remains relatively low. On the other hand subzero conditions don't affect on plywood's dimensional or strength properties which opens some special application possibilities.
OSB - or (Oriented Sheet Board) is manufactured in sheets that are 4 x 8 and 5 x 10, rectangular wooden strips compressed and bonded together with wax and resin adhesives. The sheets can vary in thickness. Different qualities in terms of thickness, panel size, strength, and rigidity can be imparted to the OSB by changes in the manufacturing process. OSB panels have no internal gaps or voids, and are water-resistant, although they do require additional membranes to achieve impermeability to water and are not recommended for exterior use. The finished product has similar properties to plywood, but is uniform and economical. It has replaced plywood in many environments, especially the North American structural panel market.
Lumber - ruff/dimensional wood cut to standardized width and depth specified in inches.
Softwood - (pine, spruce, fur) in most cases it is less dense than hardwood but still very strong and more economical.
Hardwood -(oak, maple) in more cases is more dense than softwood but very rigid.
LJM is an IPPC-certified company using materials that are compliant with ISPM 15 standards.
Wood Packaging offers the highest level of protection for your product during transit. LJM can design and develop custom wood packaging according to your products demands. With wood LJM can custom engineer crates, skids, pallets, cradles, wooden braces or wooden boxes to your needs, product, specifications, or delivery requirements. LJM can even accommodate you if you have designs already being produced.
There are several different ways that LJM can protect you products using wood, here are a few:
Reusable crates - These crates/boxes can be designed to be reused over and over. This is a good way to reduce your costs.
Show Crates- reusable crates/boxes that can be used for trade shows or exhibitions of products.
Custom pallets – These can be made to any size or style depending on the product weight and other specifications. Other components maybe added such a foam cushions, shock mounts, or skid mates.
Braces, ramps, cradles and other machined wood pieces - LJM can create virtually anything that will aid you in packaging up your products and getting it to their destination safely.
LJM can also ship your crates set up or they can be shipped knocked down flat to be cost effective and to save space when stored. LJM Packaging Co. uses wood with ISPM 15 standards so that you can ship your products internationally.

Polyethylene - This is a thermoplastic polymer consisting of long chains of the monomer ethylene. Most LDPE, MDPE, and HDPE grades have excellent chemical resistance and excellent shock absorption qualities. It is closed cell foam which can be extruded into planks and rolls. The extrusion process produces a very uniform product which provides for easier fabrication. It comes in varying density ranging from 1-9 pounds per cubic foot. This makes for an excellent packaging material because of its shock absorption qualities and clean appearance. We have various densities and colors.
Polyurethane foam or Urethane foam - is an open cell foam which is low in cost and excellent for cushioning. Urethane comes in two types, polyester and polyether. Polyether comes in densities less than two lbs, while Polyesters are usually 2 to 6 lbs per cubic foot. Both are used for cushioning, packaging, bedding material, furniture, and acoustics. Reticulated urethanes are used in filters and medical uses. We have various densities and colors.
Expanded Polystyrene - A thermoplastic, it is light weight, rigid, closed-cell, with high compressive strength. Therefore it is well suited for protective packaging and insulation. It has reliable performance and is a well suited value. Available from 0.7-3.0 pounds per cubic foot. We have various densities and colors.
Cross-Linked Polyethylene - This is closed cell polyethylene foam which has been chemically cross linked. It also comes in a form cross linked with nitrogen. This grade does not emit any gases and is excellent for medical uses. Cross-link has a smooth feel with superior physical, temperature, and chemical properties. They are available in many different colors and densities. It is even available in anti-static, conductive, and fire retardant formulations. We have various densities and colors.
MDL Polyethylene - Multi-density plank foams are made from different densities of polyethylene. It is a combination of thin-gauge high density top skin along with a high performance low density foam base. This makes it well suited for edge protectors, floatation devices, and end caps. MDL comes in 1.2-1.7 cubic densities with a 6 lb. density top skin. We have various densities and colors.
Foam packaging can be used to protect your electronics, medical equipment, produce, machinery, etc. during transit. There are many different types of foams each having their own unique properties. Some of the properties include color, density, wieght, anti-stat, and non scuff. LJM has the knowledge and the capabilities to produce the perfect foam packaging for your products using an array of services. LJM's foam services include...
Profiling – the process of notching out foam with a hot blade to create a void to fit a product into
Pads – a pad/sheet of foam than can be used for a cushion or as a filler
Roll Stock– foam coming in various thicknesses on a roll with or with out perforation
Convoluted – a pad of foam cut in half and made into “egg crate foam” this is can be used to line a box or crate
Die cutting – this is the process of when a die is made into the shape of the product using metal knife. The die is then pressed into the foam cutting out the shapes or pieces. Dies are usally produced for high quantity jobs.
CNC / Sampling – Samples can be made using our sampling machine. This machine can also be used for small quantity jobs.
Combinations – Foam can be combined with wood or corrugated to make a complete package.
