Technical Details

Polyethylene - This is a thermoplastic polymer consisting of long chains of the monomer ethylene. Most LDPE, MDPE, and HDPE grades have excellent chemical resistance and excellent shock absorption qualities. It is closed cell foam which can be extruded into planks and rolls. The extrusion process produces a very uniform product which provides for easier fabrication. It comes in varying density ranging from 1-9 pounds per cubic foot. This makes for an excellent packaging material because of its shock absorption qualities and clean appearance. We have various densities and colors.

Polyurethane foam or Urethane foam - is an open cell foam which is low in cost and excellent for cushioning. Urethane comes in two types, polyester and polyether. Polyether comes in densities less than two lbs, while Polyesters are usually 2 to 6 lbs per cubic foot. Both are used for cushioning, packaging, bedding material, furniture, and acoustics. Reticulated urethanes are used in filters and medical uses. We have various densities and colors.

Expanded Polystyrene - A thermoplastic, it is light weight, rigid, closed-cell, with high compressive strength. Therefore it is well suited for protective packaging and insulation. It has reliable performance and is a well suited value. Available from 0.7-3.0 pounds per cubic foot. We have various densities and colors.

Cross-Linked Polyethylene - This is closed cell polyethylene foam which has been chemically cross linked. It also comes in a form cross linked with nitrogen. This grade does not emit any gases and is excellent for medical uses. Cross-link has a smooth feel with superior physical, temperature, and chemical properties. They are available in many different colors and densities. It is even available in anti-static, conductive, and fire retardant formulations. We have various densities and colors.

MDL Polyethylene - Multi-density plank foams are made from different densities of polyethylene. It is a combination of thin-gauge high density top skin along with a high performance low density foam base. This makes it well suited for edge protectors, floatation devices, and end caps. MDL comes in 1.2-1.7 cubic densities with a 6 lb. density top skin. We have various densities and colors.
